Meeting

The Silk Willoughby Parish Council is made up of five elected members - comprising the Chair, Vice-Chair and three members - all unpaid volunteers who work for the benefit of the community and all local residents. The Parish Council is fully accountable and subject to detailed audit. The councillors have responsibility for reviewing and comment planning applications, reporting of highway/ footpath issues, insurance for parish council assets/ activities, dealing with street lighting issues and other parish matters.

The Clerk to the Parish Council is a paid, part-time employee. The Clerk's role is to manage administration and finances, including publishing agendas, producing minutes, liaising with Doistrict and County Councils and other relevant third parties and as Responsible Financial Officer to balance the books!

Residents may attend full council meetings and can speak briefly on village matters at the commencement of the meeting in Parishioners Items.
